Strategy and Manual for Visual Pollution Regulation Martin

The goal of the visual pollution regulation manual is to define a strategic development (long-term vision) and basic rules for visual communication – presentation in public spaces (short-term vision). On one hand, it aims to reduce the excessive number of advertising elements, and on the other hand, to set clear rules for placing advertising elements in public spaces. The main principle is to place advertisements and devices at an appropriate scale, in the right quantity, and in high-quality visual execution. An important aspect is also distinguishing different types of advertising elements and their location within the city and the specific area. The manual also includes visual aids for easier understanding of the issue and a collection of good and bad practice examples.

The city’s intention is to positively influence and enhance the quality of the environment for its residents. Advertising is one of the elements whose regulation can significantly contribute to this. This document will serve as the starting point for a unified approach to advertising in the city. Regulations and rules are based on applicable legislative frameworks. This document is primarily intended to help and serve all involved – businesses, outdoor advertising providers, property owners, and authorities – in designing and placing refined advertising in the city.
