Revitalization of the streetscape Karpatská
The entire length of the street on both sides was paved with Casa di Campo concrete paving, providing a uniform, aesthetic, and durable surface suitable for intensive urban use. As part of the renewal, pedestrian crossing ramps were made barrier-free, significantly improving access for people with reduced mobility, parents with strollers, and elderly residents. The pedestrian refuge island at the intersection with Šancová Street was enlarged to provide more space and a safer waiting area for crossing the road.
New segmental steel railings were installed along the street, contributing to clearer pedestrian guidance and overall safety. A notable addition is the creation of a protected cycle lane – an important element in promoting sustainable transport. For its construction, pigmented asphalt was used for the first time in Bratislava, visually distinguishing the cycle route from the rest of the roadway and enhancing its legibility and safety for all road users.
