Bratislava 2030 (City Development Program 2022–2030)
Bratislava 2030, subtitled City Development Program 2022–2030, is a strategic document also known under its former name, the Economic and Social Development Program. It is a key governance document that identifies challenges and defines the city’s future development goals and priorities. At the same time, it introduces a set of measures and tools that will enable the local government to achieve these goals.
The document is divided into three parts:
I. Vision for Bratislava outlines the city’s overall development vision. It also briefly explains what strategic planning is, how the plan was created, and how it will be implemented and financed.
II. Analytical Section provides a comprehensive assessment of the city’s baseline situation. The thematic areas in this section mirror the structure of local government competencies. It is organized into 11 thematic areas, which correspond to the structure of local self-government responsibilities. These foundations are further developed in the strategic section through strategic and specific goals.
III. Strategic Section outlines the city’s development strategy, taking into account its internal specificities and determining the main directions, priorities, and objectives of development. It respects the principles of regional policy to achieve balanced and sustainable territorial development and to improve the quality of life for the city’s residents. This section also includes information about the program part, which primarily consists of a list of measures and activities aimed at implementing the city’s development program.
