Revitalization of the streetscape Dunajská
In the section from Štúrova Street to Klemensova Street, new granite paving was laid, combined with the reuse of original granite curbs as well as edging stones and ramps made of ceramite.
Thanks to the removal of barriers – such as a waste container stand, planters, and so-called “bishop’s hats” (traffic-calming elements) – and the rerouting of the cycle lane that previously ran through the middle of the sidewalk, pedestrian movement has become simpler and safer. A significant change was the removal of obstacles in front of building No. 14, which made it possible to pass through the house’s arcade.
A new strip of street furniture has been added, including planters, benches, bicycle stands, and waste bins. Speed bumps were repaired and a new continuous sidewalk was built, transforming the intersection into a more cultivated urban space. Due to the large number of utility networks, tree planting was not possible.
